Application of technical standards and safety in all activities. Job Title: Plumber **Job Summary:** Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection activities for hydraulic, sanitary, cold and hot water, sewage, stormwater drainage, and gas distribution systems (where applicable), ensuring correct operation, efficiency, and compliance with technical and safety standards. Main Activities and Responsibilities: * **Installation of Hydraulic and Sanitary Systems:** * Interpret hydraulic project drawings, technical schematics, and specifications to determine optimal piping routes. * Install PVC, copper, PPR, PEAD, galvanized iron, or other piping materials as specified in the project. * Assemble and secure valves, fittings, elbows, tees, adapters, and various connectors. * Install sanitary fixtures (toilets, sinks, washbasins, urinals, showers, bathtubs) and plumbing fixtures (faucets, showerheads, electric showers). * **Maintenance and Repairs:** * Diagnose leaks, blockages, low pressure, noises, or lack of water in internal and external networks. * Clear sinks, floor drains, toilets, and grease traps using manual, electric, or hydrojetting unclogging tools. * Replace or repair damaged pipe sections, connections, valves, and taps. * Replace sealing elements (rubber rings, thread seal tape), gaskets, and repair leaks in faucets and flush valves. * **Installation of Water Heaters and Gas Systems (if certified):** * Install and maintain gas water heaters (instantaneous and storage types), solar panels, and pressure booster pumps. * Verify gas network (natural gas or LPG) tightness via pressure testing and leak-detection solution application. * Strictly comply with gas system safety standards (e.g., NBR 15526). * **Preventive Maintenance:** * Conduct periodic inspections of water tanks, pumping systems, hydraulic pumps, pressure boosters, and main shut-off valves. * Clean and sanitize water tanks and reservoirs. * Check water pressure and flow rate, adjusting pressure boosters or proposing solutions (e.g., pressure-reducing valves). * **Sewage and Drainage Installations:** * Install primary and secondary sewage piping, ensuring appropriate slope and ventilation. * Install inspection chambers, grease traps (residential and commercial), and septic tanks. * Implement stormwater drainage systems (gutters, downspouts, sand traps). * **Testing and Commissioning:** * Perform pressure tests (filling and pressurization) and leak checks on newly installed networks. * Test operation of valves, faucets, flush valves, and water heaters prior to final handover. * **Documentation and Compliance:** * Adhere to technical standards (ABNT NBRs, e.g., NBR 5626 for cold water, NBR 8160 for sewage, NBR 15526 for gas) and local building codes. * Complete service reports, lists of materials used, and record working hours. * Clearly mark work areas to ensure third-party safety. * **Safety and Organization:** * Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) — safety glasses, gloves, safety boots, helmet (when required). * Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free worksite. * Dispose of waste properly (old pipes, debris, rubber, gaskets).
