Job Summary: We are seeking a Quality Controller / Inspector to inspect, classify non-conformities, and ensure accurate recording of garments, aiming for continuous improvement of quality in knitted apparel production. STROMAE – the Portuguese subsidiary of the MAESTRO Knitting Group – is a company that develops and manufactures fully-fashioned knitted apparel for international mid-to-high-end brands. We are a rapidly growing group with offices and factories in Portugal, Italy, France, Bulgaria, and China. With approximately 100 employees worldwide, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced **Quality Controller / Inspector** for our Guimarães branch. **MISSION** The Quality Controller joins the Quality / Production department and reports directly to the Quality Manager. Inspect/control the quality of knitted panels, classify any non-conformities, and ensure accurate recording of piece counts, thereby continuously improving overall production productivity and quality. **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES** * **Panel inspection:** inspect 100% of production (or defined sampling), identify defects, and record them according to the “minor/major” classification matrix. * **Reporting:** prepare daily non-conformity reports, tracking their resolution. * **Piece counting:** tally units per production order and reconcile data with the ERP system. * **Coordination with Production:** collaborate closely with the Production Director to adjust batches, production rhythms, and control plans. * **Continuous improvement:** propose preventive and corrective actions (layout, process, training) contributing to productivity targets and defect reduction. * **Compliance with standards:** adhere to current safety, environmental, and CSR policies. * **Versatility:** perform other duties compatible with the role as delegated by the immediate supervisor. **IDEAL CANDIDATE** * **Minimum education:** 12th grade; preferably a technical course in Textiles or Quality. * **Experience:** at least two years in knitting/inspection, garment manufacturing, or industrial quality control. * **Technical skills:** knowledge of knit/knitting defects, ability to read technical specifications, proficiency in Excel. * **Behavioral skills:** autonomy, numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and effective communication with production and quality teams. * **Preferred qualifications:** familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean, OEKO-TEX or other sustainability standards; ability to train operators. **WHAT WE OFFER:** An exciting challenge within a dynamic and expanding company, offering real professional growth opportunities and merit-based recognition.
