The sensor does not require physical contact (see attached photo—when pointed at the computer). Can be used to trace an electrical wire inside a wall, provided the wall is not too dense. No ON/OFF switch; always ready for use—power is consumed only when it beeps and the red LED lights up (upon energization). Powered by two 1.5 V AAA batteries. Dimensions: 14 cm. Belongs to the Volt-Tick Pocket Size series. Manufactured in the 1990s. This device detects the presence of voltage without direct contact with the wire or any potential equipment. Resembles a pen; when you bring it close to or touch its tip to a possible power source—such as a wire or outlet—if the tip lights up red (an LED) and emits an audible signal, you know voltage is present.
