Specifically, the fellow will carry out activities in the field of concrete dams, focusing on the implementation of the BIM methodology in structural safety control activities for dams. The tasks to be performed fall under the BIM4DamSafety research project and include: * Review of the state of the art regarding dam monitoring and developments in BIM implementation for critical infrastructure; * Characterization and standardization of concepts, and systematization of processes related to safety control activities; * Application of the scan-to-BIM methodology to concrete dams; * Development of BIM models for integrating outputs from the observation system and visual inspection data. 9 \- Place of Work Host Institution: LNEC – National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, I.P. Avenida do Brasil, 101 – 1700-066 Lisbon Country: Portugal Website: https://www.lnec.pt Contact email: recrutamento@lnec.pt Activities under this grant will be conducted at the Observation Unit of the Department of Concrete Dams of LNEC, without prejudice to temporary travel within the country. 10 \- Candidate Profile Eligible candidates are Master’s degree holders in Civil Engineering or related fields, enrolled in non-degree academic programs integrated into an educational project of a higher education institution. Candidates must have proficiency in Portuguese and good knowledge of English. 11 – Scientific Supervision Scientific supervision of the activities will be provided by Assistant Researcher Carlos Luís de Oliveira Macedo Serra. 12 \- Monthly Maintenance Allowance The grant includes a monthly maintenance allowance of €1,445.00 and a daily meal allowance of €6.00. The fellow will also benefit from a specific social security regime and personal accident insurance covering all activities carried out under the grant. 13 – Selection Methods and Criteria Applications will be evaluated based on the Candidate’s Merit (MC), applying the following assessment criteria scored on a scale of 0 to 20 points. Candidate’s Merit: * Academic Record (AR) — reflecting grades obtained in academic degrees required by this call, particularly the Master’s degree — 50%; * Professional Curriculum (PC) — reflecting scientific and professional background — 30%; * Selection Interview (SI) — 20%. Foreign certificates shall only be deemed valid if accompanied by their official recognition record or, alternatively, by the official equivalence/recognition document attesting that the foreign qualification corresponds to the equivalent Portuguese qualification. Grades indicated therein may only be used if officially converted to the Portuguese grading scale (by DGES or a Portuguese public higher education institution), even if the foreign grading scale ranges from 0 to 20. * Official document certifying enrollment in the academic program specified in point 10 of this notice. If the candidate cannot obtain this document due to reasons beyond their control, they may substitute it with a sworn statement declaring such enrollment and committing to submit the original document upon contract signing. * Detailed Curriculum Vitae. * Additional documents (optional), such as letters of recommendation and documents certifying internships or complementary courses deemed relevant to the activities envisaged under the grant. 2\. At contract signing stage: * Official document certifying enrollment in the academic program specified in point 10. * Information required to draft the contract. 16 \- Application Submission Period Between January 13 and January 26, 2026 17 \- Application Formalities Applications must be submitted in one of the following ways: * Electronically, via email to recrutamento@lnec.pt, by 24:00 hours on the final day of the deadline; * In person at LNEC, at the Archives and General Registry Section, located at Avenida do Brasil, 101, 1700-066 Lisbon, by 5:30 p.m. on the final day of the deadline; * By registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt, addressed to LNEC, I.P., Avenida do Brasil, No. 101, 1700-066 Lisbon; the date stamped on the registration shall serve as the submission date for deadline compliance purposes. The same results will also be posted on the Recruitment section of the LNEC website. 19 – Deadline for Objections and Appeals Candidates have ten (10) working days following publication of the results to submit objections, if desired, during a prior hearing, as stipulated in the Administrative Procedure Code.
