BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Intern for SMT at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. About the Role We are looking for a motivated Process Engineer Intern to join our team and support the launch and ramp\-up of new SMT (Surface Mount Technology) projects. This internship offers hands\-on experience in process optimization, data analysis, and collaboration with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency and quality. Responsibilities:* Support the launch and ramp\-up of new SMT projects, ensuring smooth transitions and process stability. * Analyze production data to identify root causes of scrap and implement corrective actions. * Contribute to improving yield (FPY) through process optimization initiatives. * Gain knowledge of SMT equipment such as pick \& place machines, reflow ovens, SPI, and AOI systems. * Follow the production flow from PCB loading to final inspection, identifying opportunities for improvement in cycle times, soldering quality, and line efficiency. * Assist in the validation of new products or process changes. * Update work instructions, control plans, and setup documentation. Profile We Are Looking For* Degree in Engineering ( Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Interest in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. * Good communication skills and attention to detail. * Knowledge of Excel and data analysis tools is a plus.
