Summary: Syensqo is seeking a Global Payroll and Benefits Team Leader to lead and develop a team responsible for payroll, benefits, accounting, and audit processes, ensuring compliance and process optimization. We offer you to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment and to contribute to this group’s transformation. Our Global Payroll and Benefits process expert team is integrated in the GBS HR Service Line. As a Team Leader you will lead and develop a team of \~ 4 people responsible for the payroll, benefits, accounting and audit related processes according to the given procedures: * Ensure payroll and benefits operation compliant with local regulation and company standards * Support payroll and benefits related audit, internal and external controls * Ensure operation delivery under a streamlined process and practise and identify and support the opportunity of process optimization * Partner with finance and treasury in payroll accounting operation and support * Partner with external payroll, time and benefits provider to ensure the best services * Partner with project team in payroll and benefits related project **Key Responsibilities:** Manage the department \& staff * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of payroll and benefits experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching. * Promote professional growth and development within the team through training and skill\-building initiatives. * Ensure business continuity and backups are in place. * Ensure or perform training activities (ex: onboarding of new employees in the team). Payroll and Benefits process management and administration * Design and monitor the KPIs of global payroll expert team in service delivery including payroll accounting activities, payroll and benefits related audit and control support, process alignment, optimization and project related support * Oversee the end\-to\-end payroll and benefit process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations. Ensure work instructions/operating procedures are periodically updated. * Manage relationships with external payroll and benefit vendors and service providers to ensure seamless payroll delivery. * Stay updated on global payroll legislation and ensure compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and reporting requirements. * Resolve complex payroll issues and discrepancies in a timely manner. * Implement and maintain payroll best practices, policies, and procedures. * Ensure appropriate follow\-up by the team of all pending issues, identifying trends, recurrent issues and taking appropriate actions/contacts internally or externally to address root causes Strategic Initiatives and Process Improvement: * Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and benefits processes, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy. * Partner with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to align payroll and benefits strategies with organizational objectives. * Lead or contribute to global HR projects, such as system implementations, mergers and acquisitions, or expansion into new markets. * Create trusting partnership with stakeholders (internal or external) * Be known and recognized by BSA and GBS service line stakeholders. * Take ownership and resolve escalation requests from stakeholders. * Create, maintain and be active in networking. * Initiate and maintain improved collaboration, across GBS/BSA organization, to accelerate improvement. **You will bring:** * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. * Experience working with payroll and HRIS system. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in global payroll and benefits administration and with preferred at least 3 years in global leader role. * Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and decision\-making skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and geographies. * Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced, global environment. Must\-have skills * Knowledge in payroll and benefits process and systems * Fluent in both spoken written English * Leadership and team or project management * Attention to detail and accuracy * Fluent in English Nice\-to\-have skills * SuccessFactors and Time application knowledge **You will get:** * The Portuguese annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is €48,400 to €60,500\. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualification and internal equity and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. The primary location for this job is Portugal; however, it may also be based in other countries. For other countries, local competitive salary conditions will apply, in line with local legislation.
