




#### **About the Geotechnical Engineer-Mining Position** **Job Description** The professional will report to a Senior Manager or Area Coordinator and will be responsible for assisting in the technical aspects of mining projects, for open-pit or underground mines, supporting construction supervision, budget management, project control, estimation, procurement, and control during execution. **Qualifications** Interpret and understand agreements related to contracts, work letters, development letters, and maintenance of project status reports, processing purchase orders and tracking reports for due diligence, finance, and risk management. * Ability to assess ground characteristics, design foundations, retaining structures * Your work involves assessing ground characteristics, designing foundations, retaining structures such as dams, slope designs, evaluations, etc. * Identification of new business development opportunities with existing clients and communication of these opportunities to the appropriate line manager. * Ability to manage multiple schedules and projects simultaneously, setting priorities and working with little or no direct supervision. * Conduct systematic assessments for identification of potential risks; * Development of action/mitigation plans; * Perform qualitative risk analyses (Brainstorming, Ishikawa diagrams, SWOT analysis, etc.); * Perform quantitative risk analyses; * Conduct risk workshops and interviews; * Preparation and updating of project risk management artifacts; * Development and monitoring of reports. * Management of information flow between team and client. * Knowledge of GEO5, PLAXIS, Rocscience solutions, as well as tools like QGIS for geoprocessing and Tensar+; * Experience in multidisciplinary projects; * Experience in structural monitoring projects involving technical solutions, etc. * **Requirements** * Completed undergraduate degree, Master's degree desirable * CREA registration * Solid fieldwork experience, data collection, and team leadership; * Proficiency with field data collection tools and equipment (GPS, compass, geological hammer, portable XRF, tablets, etc.); * Experience in preparing technical reports * Availability for travel * Differentiators * Previous experience in due diligence * Technical certifications or participation in associations is desirable Location: Brazil Language: Advanced English, reading, speaking, and writing
