Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical processes **Laboratory Analyst** **Location**: Portugal, Aveiro **Contract Type**: Indefinite-term contract **Company**: RAIZ – Forest and Paper Research Institute **Mission** RAIZ – Forest and Paper Research Institute seeks to strengthen its team by hiring a Laboratory Analyst. **Main Responsibilities:** Actively participate in laboratory operations and maintain conditions necessary for carrying out laboratory activities. Perform physical and chemical laboratory tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and cellulose-based products according to established methods, ensuring quality, traceability, and reliability of results obtained. Support ongoing R&D&I projects at RAIZ by performing laboratory tests and generating analytical results to support research, development, and process and product optimization activities. Evaluate and interpret analytical results, identifying deviations and anomalies, and prepare test reports. Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical processes and laboratory practices, promoting efficiency, quality, and reliability of results. Participate in activities required to maintain RAIZ Laboratory accreditation in accordance with NP EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, including equipment calibration and verification, management of materials and consumables, quality control, technical records, and other activities associated with the quality management system. **What We Value:** **Academic Qualifications** Minimum qualification: 12th grade in Science and Technology; higher education in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent fields is preferred. **Knowledge and Experience** Proven experience of at least 5 years in a laboratory accredited by the Portuguese Institute for Accreditation (IPAC). Proven experience in performing laboratory tests using instrumental techniques such as UV/Vis spectrophotometry, potentiometric titrations, and equipment for physical testing of cellulose-based products. Training in NP EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and practical experience applying the standard’s requirements in accredited laboratories (mandatory requirement). Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint, demonstrating autonomy in consulting, updating, and managing digital documentation and information. Experience in a laboratory supporting R&D&I activities is valued; Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), particularly KLIMS applied across the entire laboratory workflow (from sample registration to result validation), is preferred. **Soft Skills** Teamwork and cooperation skills.
