Toastmasters is a nonprofit organization and the world leader in the art of communication (speaking, listening and thinking) and leadership development. You will find a positive and mutually supportive learning environment, where each member has the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills. COMMUNICATION: At Toastmasters, you can master new tools to help you communicate better, identify all areas where you need improvement, recognize your strengths so you can further enhance them, and use the communication process to effectively serve your purpose in every speech. LEADERSHIP: Sometimes we step onto the stage, other times we stay behind the scenes leading from the back! When backstage, we have the responsibility to support those who go on stage to deliver their speeches. This responsibility is reflected in specific roles, such as speech evaluators. THE TAGUSPARK TOASTMASTERS CLUB: The TagusPark club meets weekly at the auditorium in the central core of TagusPark, every Wednesday at 7:45 PM. Sessions are usually divided into three parts, each featuring a different type of speech: PREPARED: Weekly prepared speeches based on the communication manual, whether the initial or advanced manuals. IMPROVISED: The challenge… 30 seconds to think and… deliver the speech. EVALUATION: Constructive feedback provided on the entire session, from speeches to evaluators. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?: Nothing to visit! Come visit us and see for yourself how it works! WHO CAN ATTEND? Anyone interested in developing their communication and leadership skills, from students to professionals of any age. You may bring guests.
