Book TEMPORARY ECLIPSE, PERMANENT by Gabriel Gomes Synopsis: In a small village symmetrically divided, the harmonious tension felt therein serves as the fuel that keeps its inhabitants alive. Were it otherwise, this meager population fragment, nestled in the valley of that mountain range, might already have vanished from the map. One morning, the village slowed down to witness the celestial spectacle unfolding before it. The moon decided to seduce the sun, dancing slowly before it. At that precise moment, the lives of the village’s inhabitants stood at a pivotal point in their narratives. The sky’s temporary darkness mirrored each person’s permanent inner darkness. In seconds, everything changed. A few brief seconds can constitute a lifetime, and a lifetime can last only a few brief seconds. For now, nothing more can be said—especially since, were rivers to speak, they would utter nothing of what I confided to them, for I asked them to keep silent.
