Basic Info
Description
Wonderful Gradiente CD-1 Tape Deck — a rare 1978 model Deck in very good condition; divine sound; warranty provided This Gradiente CD-1 is a stereo tape deck featuring ANRS and Super ANRS noise reduction, first sold by Gradiente as the CD-1 in 1978. Key features of the Gradiente CD-1 include: two heads, a three-digit mechanical tape counter with memory stop, manual tape-type selection, and compatibility with normal, chrome, and iron-chrome tapes — with additional manual equalization selection; single-capstan belt-driven transport. A typical front-loading cassette deck, with the cassette compartment located on the right side of the deck. Tape ejection is mechanical, and the tape must be inserted with the playback side facing forward into the tape compartment. The Gradiente CD-1 uses analog needle-type VU level meters with peak indicators for easy adjustment of the ideal recording level. Fully logic-based transport controls on the Gradiente CD-1 enable instantaneous, effortless function selection with minimal finger contact. To ensure optimal response across the wide variety of available tapes, equalization can be adjusted to ideal levels prior to recording. Super ANRS, developed by Gradiente for the CD-1 and used also in the KD-85, applies compression during recording and expansion during playback to improve high-frequency dynamic range. Furthermore, Super ANRS is a highly effective noise-reduction system that reduces tape hiss by increasing the signal-to-noise ratio by up to 10 dB at 5000 Hz. For live recordings, this deck features two microphone inputs for connecting microphones with jack connectors. For undisturbed listening, a stereo headphone jack connector is provided. Connection to other audio components for playback is achieved via an RCA cable, and recording from a source is also accomplished using an RCA cable.
