Genuine scope to grow across multiple technical domains ### **Job description** Daily rate: 255€/day * **Hybrid, 3 days/week in office, 2 days remote** A leading renewable energy producer operating hydro and wind assets in Portugal is looking for a hands\-on OT/IT Network and Infrastructure Engineer to reinforce its technical team. The company manages a significant portfolio of generation assets and is actively expanding into battery storage and hybrid configurations. The IT/OT team handles all industrial and operational infrastructure directly: OT networks, firewall and network administration, systems management, industrial communications, and cybersecurity. Corporate IT is managed centrally at group level, meaning this team focuses exclusively on the operational and industrial layer. This is a practical, varied role where no two days are the same. You will own day\-to\-day infrastructure and networking tasks, contribute to ongoing modernization projects, and work closely with operations, engineering, and dispatch teams. The environment is collaborative and technically rich, with genuine scope to grow across multiple domains. ### **Requirements** **Goals and Deliverables** * Own day\-to\-day firewall rule management, policy administration, and network troubleshooting across wind farm and hydro infrastructure (FortiGate) * Administer routing and switching infrastructure, including network segmentation and OT/IT boundary management * Administer Windows Server and SQL Server environments, including updates and maintenance in preparation for a SCADA platform migration * Troubleshoot communication failures between systems: SCADA, RTUs, field devices, and IT infrastructure * Maintain backup and disaster recovery configurations for PLCs and automation controllers across renewable energy sites * Review and audit firewall rules for security compliance and alignment * Contribute to NIS2 and national cybersecurity regulatory compliance alongside the in\-house cybersecurity consultant * Provide general IT support to the team and end users across office and field environments * Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders on technical delivery * Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives being explored by the team **Experience Required** * 10\+ years of total professional experience in IT, networking, or OT (combined paths considered) * Hands\-on firewall administration at engineering level: rule creation, policy management, and troubleshooting (FortiGate strongly preferred) * Solid routing and switching experience: L2/L3, VLANs, network segmentation, OT/IT boundary architecture * Windows Server administration; SQL Server familiarity is a strong plus * Linux administration * Exposure to OT or industrial environments: energy, utilities, manufacturing, or similar * Familiarity with industrial protocols: IEC 60870\-5\-104, OPC UA/DA, Modbus * Comfortable working with high autonomy in a small, polyvalent team * Able to occasionally travel to renewable energy sites in northern Portugal * Portuguese fluency; functional English for vendor and international coordination * **Hybrid, 3 days/week in office, 2 days remote** **\-** If you would like to stand\-out from other applicants, please share more with us here: https://app.candidrecruit.com/apply/ot\-it\-engineer It is not mandatory, but greatly increases your chances of being selected. **\-** **Contact:** Costa Neto * costa.neto@littlebigconnection.com * \+351 21 020 9908 (Cell phone \& WhatsApp)
