This will significantly increase your chances of success #### **About the Opportunity** You will join a global technology division responsible for the platforms supporting the Credit business. The team designs, develops, and maintains connectivity with external trading venues, internal price distribution, price aggregation, order contribution, and market connectivity. The platform supports several credit asset classes, including bonds, Floating Rate Notes (FRNs), single\-name Credit Default Swaps (CDS), and index CDS. Working alongside teams in Lisbon, London, and New York, you will help improve the reliability, performance, and functionality of a strategically important eTrading platform. #### **Main Responsibilities** * Develop and maintain server\-side components using Java 17 or later. * Design and implement features for Credit eTrading order management and market connectivity. * Develop bond\-quoting capabilities integrated with algorithmic engines. * Enhance the bond auto\-negotiation engine. * Build internal Request for Quote workflows between sales and trading teams. * Develop and maintain connectivity with external trading venues. * Produce clean, scalable, high\-performance, secure, and testable code. * Participate in migration, modernization, and code\-refactoring initiatives. * Collaborate with production support teams on releases and component maintenance. * Work directly with traders and front\-office stakeholders. * Provide Level 3 production support when required. * Take end\-to\-end ownership of solutions, from design and development through production deployment. * Ensure that all solutions meet demanding quality, security, reliability, and performance standards. * Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives. #### **Mandatory Requirements** * At least five years of professional software development experience. * Advanced hands\-on expertise with Java 17 or later. * Strong experience developing server\-side applications. * Ability to build clean, scalable, high\-performance, and testable software. * Experience with software design and application architecture principles. * Experience working with Agile development methodologies. * Hands\-on experience with migration, modernization, or code\-refactoring projects. * Strong analytical and problem\-solving capabilities. * Excellent attention to detail and technical rigor. * Ability to take end\-to\-end ownership of code through production. * Excellent written and spoken English. * University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or another quantitative field. #### **Highly Valued Experience** * Previous experience working directly with front\-office teams. * Knowledge of electronic trading systems. * Experience with fixed\-income or Credit eTrading platforms. * Understanding of bonds, FRNs, CDS, RFQ workflows, pricing, and order management. * Experience developing low\-latency or high\-performance systems. * Knowledge of market connectivity and external trading venues. * Experience providing Level 3 production support. * Previous experience in investment banking or capital markets. * Ability to communicate directly with traders and business stakeholders. #### **Ideal Candidate Profile** The ideal candidate is a senior backend Java engineer with strong expertise in Java 17\+, server\-side development, software architecture, and high\-performance systems. You are comfortable taking ownership of solutions throughout the entire software lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. You have experience in complex, business\-critical environments and can collaborate effectively with developers, support teams, and front\-office stakeholders. Previous exposure to electronic trading, fixed income, credit products, or capital markets will be a significant advantage.
