Job Summary: A dining room professional responsible for ensuring excellence in service—from preparing the venue, welcoming guests, serving food and beverages, to managing payments—while adhering to hygiene standards. Food and beverage service with professional technique * Report for duty punctually at the assigned store and shift, maintaining personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform condition. Clock in after donning the uniform and being fully prepared to begin the shift. * Clean and sweep the dining area and terrace before each meal service. * Prepare the dining area: align tables and chairs; verify that all items are in good condition for guest use; report any items in poor condition. * Polish glasses and cutlery before service. Inspect cleanliness and presentation of plates prepared for service; report any items in poor condition. * Check, clean, and refill soy sauce dispensers, salt shakers, pepper mills, and condiment sets. * Assist with receiving and organizing goods delivered to the store by suppliers and/or internal distribution. * Set tables for meal service (mise en place); verify table sanitation; place place cards, cutlery, and napkins. * Greet guests warmly and courteously upon arrival; check for reservations; assign tables and escort guests accordingly. * Present the menu and provide detailed information upon request (e.g., portion sizes, ingredients, or potential food allergens). * Inform guests about daily specials and chef’s recommendations, if applicable. * Suggestively sell additional items when appropriate. * Accurately record food and beverage orders using a POS system, order notepad, or memorization. * When in doubt, verify guest identification to ensure legal age for alcoholic beverage consumption. * Communicate order details—including allergy information—to the kitchen team. * Serve food (American-style service) and beverages, using trays for cafeteria and beverage service; apply proper wine service techniques, whether by glass or bottle. * Do not seat guests at tables just vacated without thorough sanitation; prepare the table/mise en place before seating guests. * Present the bill, receive and verify cash payments and change; confirm successful transaction completion when using TPA (automated payment terminals)/Multibanco. * Use tray-carrying and cleaning cloth techniques to collect and transport soiled dishes, glasses, and cutlery to the pantry or bar for washing. * Meet with the shift supervisor prior to each meal service to review daily updates, menu changes, staff absences, and service specifications for reservations (e.g., private events). * Assist the shift supervisor in assessing requirements for orders and internal requisitions. * Comply with all relevant hygiene and HACCP standards. * Deliver exceptional service and guest experience
